LyondellBasell acquires stake in De Paauw Sustainable Resources

Circular and sustainable have become an indispensable part of the plastics industry. Consolidation has taken place in recent years and is still in full swing. The demand for recycled material is expected to grow strongly in the coming years. That is why brand owners, packaging manufacturers and chemical companies are looking for recycling capacity and feedstock.

We were also asked regularly, but we were not ready for it yet or it was not the right 'fit'. Until now!

We are proud to announce that the agreements were signed last Thursday, making LyondellBasell a 50% shareholder of De Paauw Sustainable Resources. Roy de Paauw remains owner of the remaining 50%. ING Corporate Investments Particpaties, our minority shareholder has sold its shares to LyondellBasell.

Who is LyondellBasell

LyondellBasell is the world's largest producer of polymers and the largest licensor of polyolefin technologies. As a virgin producer, they have set themselves a challenging sustainability target to produce and market at least 2 million tons of recycled polymers annually from 2030. We will support LyondellBasell to achieve this objective. On the one hand by sourcing feedstock and on the other hand by jointly developing, producing and marketing new products. We will therefore further expand our capacity in the coming years.

What does this mean for De Paauw Sustainable Resources?

DPSR with Roy de Paauw and his team continue to operate independently as you have come to expect from us. We are, and remain, the reliable partner in plastic recycling. We will continue on this path and can do even more for you through the partnership with LyondellBasell. We have more options for plastic waste streams. Our R&D team will continue to develop new recipes and circular solutions with LYB's chemical knowledge. To meet the growing demand for recycled materials, we will also invest further in expanding our production capacity. In short, more New Use For Used Plastics!

Multiple opportunities

We are very enthusiastic about this strategic partnership with LyondellBasell and we see plenty of opportunities to make it an even greater success together with you. Do you have any questions or would you like to present us with a challenge? Let us know. We would be happy to discuss it with you.
